Support for LGBTQ Transracial Adoptive Parents
a support group for adoptive fathers and mother and/or parenting-caregivers raising adopted children across racial and ethnic lines - for families who have adopted either internationally or domestically, privately or through the foster-care system

Pact, An Adoption Alliance, is excited to introduce a eight-session LGBTQ parent support group designed to discuss issues and strategies relevant to race, ethnicity, culture, adoption and parenting.
Adoptive fathers and mothers or active parenting caregivers of children of color ages 0 to 8 years old are invited to join. Each group session will offer LGBTQ parents an opportuntity to explore their feelings about transracial adoptive parenting in a safe and nurturing setting, with a focus on developmentally appropriate approaches to their family's issues.

Cost
$15 per person per session for the first person in each family plus $50 for each additional adult. No one turned away for lack of funds. Free Children's Programming with Childcare at the LGBT Center's KidSpace. Sorry, no refunds.
Questions or Interest in Future Groups
Groups lead by Martha Rynberg, a peer facilitator, who is also an LGBTQ transracial adoptive parent will include transracially-adopted adults as well as other guest speakers with relate expertise. Please contact Martha Rynberg, group facilitator for questions specific to the group.

We envision this first group as part of an ongoing partnership between three great non-profits:
Each of the groups will be give LGBTQ parents an opportunity to explore their feelings about transracial adoptive parenting in a safe and nurturing setting. Group members will receive peer support and education around how to addresses their family's issues in developmentally appropriate ways.
