Join other adoption triad members (and interested community members) for an Adoption Book and Film Discussion Group to read books and view films related to adoption, with a focus on race and parenting. Group discussions will be facilitated by Kay Trimberger and Shannon Riehle. The group meets on the 2nd Tuesday of the month, from January through June from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm in Oakland. Light snacks and drinks provided. No children under 14. Kaiser Medical Center

Kay Trimberger is professor emerita of Women's & Gender Studies, Sonoma State University and the author of The New Single Woman (2006). She is the white mother of a 28-year-old, mixed-race son, adopted as an infant. Shannon Riehle is a teacher and the mother of a 2-year-old African American son who joined her family through fostercare/adoption. |
