Pact, An Adoption Alliance Interactions Between Pact And Other Services

Pact is often contacted by adoption professionals seeking families for consideration by specific birth parents. In response to such requests, Pact will supply information about appropriate Pact adoptive families. If the birth parents (or parent) choose a Pact family, the professional working with the birth parents will be responsible for providing Pact with the following information:

Pact will make every effort to speak directly with the birth parents prior to the first contact between the prospective adoptive parents and the birth parents.

Pact and the other service providers will make arrangements to facilitate initial contact between the birth parents and the adoptive parents.

Pact will review the birth mother preference's for labor and delivery procedures and will inform hospital officials of the pending adoption and of the birth mother's preferences.

Pact and the other service providers will, at necessary intervals, together review the progress of the adoption plan to ensure that all aspects are addressed.

Pact will negotiate financial agreements between adoptive parents and birth parents.

Pact will consult with adoptive and birth parents regarding contact and will draft a "Memo of Understanding" to record their agreements with each other, to be signed by all the parents involved in the adoption. A copy will be sent to the other service providers to remain part of the permanent record of this adoption.
